Our eyes abruptly opened to Autumn. It’s arrival brought fierce, heavy rain which led to unprecedented flooding that quickly stole the richness from the land. By late October, everything felt unfamiliar and unstable. All roads leading to our sanctuary were impassable, except for one.
After a long and arduous journey to the cabin, we paddled over to the island. Destruction was everywhere. Somber thoughts bubbled up in our minds as we stared into the river’s cold stillness. It was then, light roared like a lion through a blanket of grey clouds giving birth to a miraculous vision. Each bubble began to reflect its own cosmos. As they gracefully soared off into the sky we were reunited with a new hope, ready to descend into another winter.
